I'm restoring an old Amstrad PC. It contains a real-time clock (RTC) chip that has an internal, non-replaceable battery (crazy design). The battery is flat so the PC will not boot up. This item is a modern replacement for the RTC. I installed it in the PC and switched on. A "battery is flat" message appeared on the screen. The item was advertised as "new". It may be "unused" but it is not new; the battery lasts 10 years.
