In fact it wasn't in the box at all. I took the shoes to a cobbler and having them repaired so they will bring me lots of joy. I'm sure it was just not noticed. Here are some picks. Other than that, LOVE the shoes! I had a couple of pairs somewhat similar which I purchased in the mid-70s. So this pair will have company! Love love!! Thank you.
