The plastic bends over the door gasket a bit and looks as if it's made to fit, but not quite so. Mine is an 97 LSI Sedan. I'm unsure if the mirrors for the hatchback or convertible were different, and if the sedan had specific ones or not. Overall, they do what they are supposed to and it isn't really an issue, they just fit weird.
