It's 'OK'. You can't tighten the nut enough to make it stay straight so the phone just hangs there. I used some grey 3M two-way tape that I had to increase the circumference of the ball to make it large enough for the nut to tighten appropriately. Works fine now but it shouldn't need to be modified in the first place.
