In late October 2004, piano-playing singer/songwriter Bruce Hornsby brought his criminally underrated brand of jazz-pop to New York City in support of his Grammy-nominated album HALCYON DAYS. The week's worth of concerts found the pianist playing both the legendary Town Hall and the world-famous jazz club the Blue Note with his new band the Noisemakers, while a performance at Carnegie Hall's prestigious Zankel Hall showcased Hornsby in a solo piano outing. This program captures the sold-out Town Hall concert on October 29, 2004, with Hornsby and the Noisemakers rocking through a career-spanning selection of songs that includes classics like "The Way It Is," "Mandolin Rain," "Jacob's Ladder," and "The Valley Road" in high-definition video and crystal-clear surround-sound mix. The concert film also presents a companion documentary that features rehearsal footage, interviews, clips from the Blue Note and Carnegie Hall shows, and other behind-the-scenes material for an intimate glimpse at one of rock's finest and most distinctive piano players.
