'Where ever I hang my hat. That's home. I've seen to much of this world, been too many places to believe I can say, yes, that's where I'm from, or yes, this is my hometown' From an early age, Steve Westfall learned to adjust to a life style of changes. Life was never dull for someone like Steve, who found adventure in every facet of life. California? Yes, born there. Oklahoma? Yes, spent a few years there. Afghanistan? Yes, graduated from high school there. Beirut, Lebanon? Bought my first electric guitar there. Virginia? Worked construction there. Tennessee? Worked construction and went to college. Ohio? More college and that's where I first learned to fly. Florida? Went to flight school there. Alaska? Spent a few years there flying the bush in old ex-military seaplanes. Australia? More flying. Belize? Just a vacation. And Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iran, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Pago Pago, Japan, Hawaiian Islands, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and almost every state in the union. Arizona? Yeh, this where I'm hangin' my hat for now.' As it was for most of his generation it seems, there was the quintessential childhood piano and accordion lessons. But also typical of his generation was the love of music that only came from learning to play his first guitar and, the discovery of rock and roll music. In his teens and early twenties Steve played in several rock bands but his dream of flying was always center stage in those days. But eventually he found his way back to his first love and rekindled the passion and excitement and thrills that he has only been able to find in music. 'Material for the kind of songs I write is easy to find, we've all 'been there, done that'. I like the straight to the point approach, songs people can relate to in their own personal way. A broken heart? Yes, been there more than once. Love? Yes, had more than my share. Friends? A few, but they'll always remain so. Loved ones I'll never see again in this life? Many and missed so much! Yes, I know that feeling........' Steve is currently a captain with a major airline and lives in Tempe, Arizona.
