The Supplement to the Revised Code of the Laws of Virginia presents an introduction and collection of the public and general Acts which have been revised and passed since 1819 and embraces all those acts with some few exceptions. The new Acts include a detailed Code restricting the rights of slaves and Free Negroes, passed after the Nat Turner insurrection. The laws prohibit their rebellious instruction, except upon permission of their ministers, and then only by white preachers. A historically significant collection of Virginia State Laws.
