The stock battery lasted some ,ten years .I can always rate it after using it to the test. The old battery would not take a charge at all so I had to use the USB cord ,but when unplugged the unit will shutdown. Hmm very annoying, this one is great. I used the mp3 player for two and a half hours ",maybe more .still fully charged. Thanks .I really appreciate this. Hope that this was helpful to other's that kept there unit mp3 player.
