That was unfortunate as I really liked the table. But the shipping in the U.S., has gotten out of hand in the past few years. As a result I've not been purchasing online as much anymore. I discovered that in many cases shipping to the U.S., from some European countries was far less than within the U.S. regardless of distance.

However, the people at Vintage France Antiques were wonderful, and it's a shame. The table was almost like one I already have, and I would have felt good about doing business with Vintage France Antiques. As for UPS. . . well this is only one more instance why I don't like having to use them, or FedEx. Both have become difficult to deal with from the receiver's end.
