The 'pad' presses IN, and does NOT look like a bulge when I'm wearing jeans. The elastic strap & velcro combo fits and adjusts so well. I had/have a 'discommfort' in the inguinal area and can feel a bump but it's not as if it protrudes. This unit applies just enough pressure to keep any such bulge or discomfort from getting any worse. I love it. BTW, superb price and arrived well packaged!
