Ball head clamps tight enough to not drop my gun. Got this for right at 100$ so it was a 1/3 of what i "gun tripod" costs. Works well for my use so far.

Saved weight with plastic head parts, that do not hold a 4 pound medium format steady at all, especially extended. It is rock solit without the ball head, and I can obtain a metal ball head that is bigger and more rigid for a nominal amount. Can use it with med format without ball head as well. Fine for 35 mm and digital cameras without a telephoto lens.
