The middle (inside) 3-pin connector coupler is removable in this model (unlike the other design I see commonly, I think); you can remove it (tip it out when open) & use for other cable types. I used to protect DC jack connectors (to an extension cable; waterproof screw-seal versions are available but super hard to find on longer pre-made cables). Take care to thread the cap/rubber pieces on the wires in right order! Appears working well so far (do them up tight!)
