- i***c (15)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchasePackaging - Great, about 8 layers of bubble wrap with anti-static wrap in the middle. The item - it is as described with no bad sectors and odd clicking noises. However, there is an oddity with the drive I received. It seems that 1 power-off retract causes 3 UltraDMA CRC errors to pop up in SMART. Initially, I thought it was a poor SATA-to-SATA connection, so I tried it on a USB-SATA adapter. Errors are still increasing though, but data transfer and retention seems to be fine for some reason.Follow-up from: i***c- Feedback followed up by buyer.- Feedback followed up by buyer.Tested it again with a known working USB to SATA cable and ODD bay SATA adapter; upon boot there are no CRC errors generated. It looks like my old cable and slimline SATA to SATA adapter were malfunctioning which is odd seeing as they were fine days before. If anyone reads this, please ignore my previous observations. This is just the average modern electronics experience, you can't trust new things to work without being paranoid.

Similar vendors just send unprotected in an envelope. That memory chip could be kicked for a field goal and still survive. Installed the memory chip in the PC and worked perfectly. What great service!
