It does flash the pilot light on the switch for left and right turn and for the 4 ways (all four corner lights). The pilot light flashed strongly with the 4 ways, but rather weakly with the left and right turn which leads me to believe that the current draw through the flasher makes a difference with how brightly the pilot light flashes. I'm going to wire the cowl lights in next and try that.
