The bag looks old - it's scarred from the cacao nibs inside pressing on the bag, and it's dirty (there are dark smudges on it). There is a handwritten "$5" on the bag (I paid more for it). Makes me wonder what kind of life this product had before it got to me. So the packaging is questionable but fully intact. The expiration date is a year out, so the product itself is still fresh, and the cacao nibs are as they should be.
