Welcome music seekers! This, my third CD, marks a return to Austin, a switch to fingerstyle picking, and exclusivity with the Fender Stratocaster. Not quite country, not quite not - but all twang. In fact, I like to call it 'Postmodern Twang,' a mixture of many styles (see above) but sewn together by the sonic thread of the Fender Strat, fingerstyle. Excellent for road trips, morning wake-ups, house cleaning, even late night headphone sessions, this album's one true wish is that it brings joy and spirit to the listener's day. Lyrically the songs sing of dirt roads, burn barrels, and off-grid living in Central Oregon, secret hearts, defective hearts, road trip lust, male bravado, a child's perspective, even alcoholism and death (but we won't mention those). With today's over-compressed, over-produced, over-the-top recordings, 'Long Tall Eddy' makes a concerted effort to leave space and breathing room for the listener. You can actually listen to this album from beginning to end without suffering ear fatigue! So please enjoy my latest offering, 'Long Tall Eddy,' sometimes sad, sometimes humorous, sometimes exciting. This is music to breath to, dance to, drive to, but most of all - listen to. Thanks, Paul Eddy.
