I've replaced the thermal paste a few times but decided to try out Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut. It was fairly easy to use as long as you're gentle with it, trimming it was a delicate process. So far I am really happy with the result as the fan is no longer going at 100%, I would say that the disc drive is probably louder than the fan now. Recommended :)!
