Rukkus rocks out from the first songs, "Let's Get Da Party Started" and "When I Think" in an energetic barrage of guitars and rhythm that will get everyone moving and continues throughout with the exception of a trio of ballads. The songs are uplifting lyrically and melodically and can fill an arena stage or your living room. The songs are rockers with ballads that cross over to modern country, adult alternative, pop, and college radio. The songs are inspired by things that make a person feel good, the urgency of letting a loved one know how you feel about them, and having a good time. They are things that touch the heart so everyone can relate. You feel better after listening to the CD than you did beforehand. The songs will make you think and the melodies will stay with you all day. The music is guitar based with cutting rhythms and soaring leads on a solid drum groove. The keyboards make it thick and the bass makes it heavy for a big mix and a cool sound when you crank it up. Buddy brings some cool rhythms and Brian brings the harmonies for a mix you can't find anywhere else. There isn't anything out there quite like it, yet there is a familiarity that sounds comfortable. The songs "Let's Get Da Party Started," "When I Think," "S.O.S.," and "Given One Chance" all rock pretty hard with intensity. "One Night Alone With You," "My Feelings," and "I Really Care" get thought provoking while providing a soundtrack that sets the mood. It's great with the headphones on! "Walk All Over You" and "Don't You Walk Away" are some crunchers that demand attention. Don't let anyone push you around and take care of your business. "Heaven's Missing An Angel" and "Get It Done" are just plain fun songs you'll want to listen to over and over. The ballads all pack an emotional punch. "So Close," the first single, has touched the hearts of many because everyone can relate to the separation of someone you love. "I'm Just A Phone Call Away" reminds us that life changes and we need to make time for those we love. There is a connection even when we are miles away. "Wait" is about getting the house in order so a relationship can grow like it should. Will the other person wait for that to happen or not? The guitar solos are melodic pieces that would be missing if you tried something else. They are a part of the songs and can get pretty crazy. The vocals are melodic with a lot of harmonies that will stay in your head long after you put the CD away. It's the soundtrack of good times, a break from a wild world we live in.
