As new, they have a thin piece of plastic that peels off to reveal a layer of adhesive that helps the bars to adhere permanently to shower wall. Without it, they won't stay up. The adhesive on the cups of these bars was used and not sticky, so they must have been installed somewhere--not new as advertised.This is very disappointing and big hassle to pack the things back up and return them. BEWARE SELLER!
