I did have to swap out the mounting bracket from my old dead CD drive, but I knew this ahead of time. This drive was a definite upgrade adding blue-ray and LightScribe capabilities. The seller shipped quickly and I had the drive in hand, installed and working in only a few days. I did have some concerns that the newer device might not meet the notorious HP Whitelist criteria - BUT - it passed with flying colors! Most excellent transaction!
