About this product

Product Information

“Mega Man” is a franchise best known for its hardcore platforming action. However, in 1994, developer Capcom decided to go in a different direction. “Mega Man Soccer” for the Super Nintendo reimagines the world of The Blue Bomber as a sporting competition. Rather than battle in a 2D action game, Mega Man and the Robot Masters fight it out on the sports field. Despite being in a different genre, “Mega Man Soccer” has a lot of similarities with the classic and beloved Super NES games that came before it, including a final face-off with the infamous Dr. Wily.At its core, “Mega Man Soccer” plays like you'd expect a fun soccer game to play. The game follows the traditional rules of soccer and features penalty kicks and corner kicks. However, the game throws in one big twist: robots can use their powers during a match. You can use these powers to disable or incapacitate anyone who touches the ball. For example, Ice Man can shoot a powerful ice blast that freezes his opponents. Skull Man can fire a Skull Shot that knocks his opponents unconscious. Each of these powers can only be used a few times per match. However, the upside is that these powerful shots almost always guarantee a goal.“Mega Man Soccer” features characters taken from four games in the franchise. Characters that span all games include Mega Man, also known as Rockman, and his brother, Proto Man. Enker and Dr. Wily also make an appearance. From the first game in the franchise are Elec Man, Ice Man, Fire Man, Cut Man, and Bomb Man. From “Mega Man 2” are Air Man, Bubble Man, Flash Man, and Wood Man. Robots representing the third game in the franchise include Gemini Man, Needle Man, Snake Man, and Top Man. Lastly, there are four characters from “Mega Man IV;” these are Skull Man, Dust Man, Pharoah Man, and Toad Man.“Mega Man Soccer” from Capcom features four modes of play. In exhibition mode, you can mix and match robots from any game into one team. You can also select a stage from 12 different arenas. This mode also supports two players so that a friend can join in the soccer action. Tournament mode is a large-scale game where eight teams compete in single elimination to determine a winner. League mode lets you battle it out over the course of a season. “Mega Man” players will feel right at home with the Capcom Championship mode. This mode has you fighting through eight teams in any order. Every time you defeat a team, one of their members joins your team. This feature is like gaining a robot's weapon after defeating it in the standard games. After beating these eight teams, you'll then play a game of soccer against Dr. Wily.

Delivered on time with adequate protection in the packaging. The description did note some edge wear of the ink stamp, but I felt looking back that the pictures didn't do very well to highlight the extent of the stamp fading, maybe due to lighting/glare. While I might have selected a different disc with a bit less ink wear if I'd looked more carefully at the picture, the seller accurately represented the condition and I am happy with the purchase for the price.
