Notes
Crackpot Theory is a rock 'n roll juggernaut composed of various influences such as: Meat puppets, Slayer, Melvins, Tool, Metallica, Nirvana, Ludwig von Beethoven, and Gustav Mahler. Each song is an evolution of sonic purpose: to bring honest, pure rock back into the lives of fans. This, combined with an energetic and masterful live show make for a uniquely epic experience. Formed originally in 2001, Crackpot Theory has evolved in compositional structure as well as in musicality over the last three years. Sam and Derick formed the songwriting nucleus of the group after their previous project, 'Dr Evazon' disbanded. Tony joined when his stints with 'Straight To Space' and 'Amateur Show' ended. Jesse materialized, through a mutual friend, from projects such as 'Flut' and 'Junk Sick Dawn'. Together, this rhythm section let's loose a barrage of thunderous groove. Their album, 'Let's Fight' was recorded in April of 2003 with the help of engineering mastermind, Greg Hagel. Later, during the summer, Tony had surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This effectively put the live aspect of the band on hiatus during this period. To make up for this, the band finished up all of the detail oriented overdubbing. After a break in August, Crackpot Theory returned to the studio to mix and master the album, which was released in February of 2004. Crackpot Theory has played everywhere, from an ice-rink in the middle of nowhere to opening for Mike Watt and the supergroup Eyes Adrift. In the years Crackpot Theory has been playing in the bay area, they have amassed a steadily growing and devoted following. Now is your chance to join them.
