Out of the box pinout is completely messed up. Make sure not to plug anywhere as-is and check the wiring thoroughly first.
Red and black wires are VCC and GND (as expected), just sitting in the wrong places in the plug - in my case they just had to be switched with yellow and blue wires (easily done with small tweezers)
