It's exactly as described and worked. Once I switched out the H700 card with this one, the OS was able to see individual drives and not just the VD created with the old card. Keep in mind with this firmware you cannot boot your server from any of the drives attached. You'll have to either flash that BIOS part yourself or do what I did and ordered a Dell BOSS-S1 PCIe SATA adapter designed to boot server OSs.
