From its introductory explications to its in-depth discussions of treatment options and advice for the long-term, 8 Keys to Parenting Children with ADHD is a comprehensive guide that can be applied both at home and in the classroom. Written in a language that ensures accessibility without being disrespectful, this book assumes no previous experience and is well-suited for parents who are simply at their wits end. . . . [A]n empowering read for anyone working closely with an ADHD-diagnosed child., This is the first book you want to read when navigating your way through the maze of parenting children with ADHD. Cindy Goldrich provides a clear, informative guide filled with valuable tips and tools. She blends her expertise in coaching and parenting to create a book you will use as a resource and a grounding tool from grade school through the teen years. Fantastic!, Goldrich has a warm and encouraging tone that embodies exactly what she recommends parents use with their ADHD kids: a calm and steady presence. . . . Although the process of parenting a child with ADHD is often as frustrating and confusing as the diagnosis itself, Goldrich offers a concise and easy-to-read guide that teaches parents to use warmth and wisdom to bring the best out of our children., This book is a godsend for parents raising kids who have the exciting but often challenging condition called ADHD. Written by a woman who has helped thousands of parents through her enormously successful parenting workshops and classes, Cindy Goldrich's book is an instant classic., [E]asy to refer back to when life challenges arise. The author makes good use of simple but effective illustrations to make a point as clearly as possible for those who might skim or lose focus while reading. Overall, this is a very helpful guide for parents that uses a soft touch and can provide comfort to parents while coaching them on how to be understanding yet firm with children., Parenting is hard enough--parenting a child with ADHD can be downright overwhelming. Cindy Goldrich has managed the Herculean task of distilling her decades of training and experience as a certified ADHD coach into one concise, easy-to-read 'crash course' for parents of a child with ADHD. Better than any other book I've read, it helps parents 'see the world through the eyes of their child with ADHD.' With warmth and wisdom, Goldrich teaches parents to deal with the myriad frustrations and challenges, create a loving, supportive relationship with their child, and get back to the rewarding aspects of parenting. Synopsis
Compassionate and effective strategies for raising a child with ADHD. Parenting children with ADHD, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, can be challenging and complex. But just as a child who struggles with reading can learn to decode words, children with ADHD can learn patience, communication, and solution-seeking skills to become more confident, independent, and capable. This book, rich with optimism, tips, tools, and action plans, offers science-based insights and systems for parents to help cultivate these skills. Combining expert information with practical, sensitive advice, the eight "key" concepts here will help parents reduce chaos, improve cooperation, and nurture the advantages--like creativity and drive--that often accompany all of that energy. Based on author Cindy Goldrich's seven-session workshop entitled Calm and Connected: Parenting Kids with ADHD ©, this book focuses on developing and strengthening effective interpersonal skills in both parents and children as a way to improve conflict resolution. Following the parenting principle to " Parent the child you have ," Goldrich offers advice to help readers tailor their parenting to meet the needs of their unique child. The book also leads parents to recognize the value of being a leader and a guide to children, building parents' confidence in their decision-making, and giving children a sense of safety, security, and confidence. The principles outlined in 8 Keys to Parenting Children with ADHD are appropriate for parenting kids of all ages--until they have "launched" and are on their own., Parenting children with ADHD, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, can be challenging and complex. In my 25 years of audio purchases, I have NEVER seen such quality packaging. Grills removed, surrounded by wrap and boxed separately, drivers covered with cardboard and gaffer tape, speaker corners protected with styrofoam. ASTOUNDING job to ensure I received my fairly priced item as described. I was truly impressed, so much that I'll follow their sales from now on. It is SO VERY RARE to get items shipped properly. Hats off to this seller. Sincerely, one happy customer.
