This trend started in the ‘70’s . For me, this distracts from the beauty of the artwork. However, this huipil will join the collection as a sample of how market pressure can change age old customs. This was an easy purchase because of the staff who took the order, prepared the shipment, and caught/corrected an error which could have proved difficult. Thank you.
