The bag was taped all around with thick tape so the only way to open it was to cut it open with scissors. Even when I did so carefully I still managed to cut through one of the laces :-( I had a old pair at home so replaced it, but I think some more thought/care needs to go into the packaging. That said the trainers were good quality and I'm very happy with them
