John shares his heart for Christ and passion for worship in this project. John is a singer, songwriter, musician, performing artist, and worship leader. He has spent the last ten years inspiring praise in the hearts of God's people through song in various local congregations. And now you can experience deep and meaningful praise through the songs on his new album, released in March, 2014. His music will draw you closer to the True Light."-Rebecca Lou Although John's performances have won awards, authentic worship is always the goal. He has shared the stage with artists such as Seven Miles, Chris August, and Sidewalk Prophets. John was influenced early in life by a variety of musical styles such as folk, rock, blues, and traditional hymns. He spent many years developing his abilities as a guitarist and singer, playing in working bands. In college he began leading worship with a campus ministry. Later he found himself serving on a church staff as Worship Pastor. A few years ago he began writing his own songs of worship and praise. Today John serves as Worship Pastor at a church in North Carolina, and travels, performing and leading worship in various churches across the state. John's live band, known as Forward Motion, delivers an authentic and expressive sound that flows from their musical roots and passionate worship. For the last two years, fellow NC natives Rusty McLean (drums), Gwyn McGlamery (bass guitar), and Brandon Johnson (sound engineer) have been helping to set the tone of John's music by providing the backbone of the songs. After working with Daniel Vines (acoustic guitar and vocals) at church, John knew the four of them were a perfect fit. 'These guys are my brothers!,' he said. 'I'm truly blessed to work with such gifted, dedicated musicians.' As a guitarist, John has been inspired by blues legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, guitar heroes like Eric Clapton and Jeff Healey, various classic rock bands, and the acoustical nuances and writing prowess of artists like James Taylor and Kim Ritchey . The guitar may be his favorite instrument, but his heart is tuned for praise. Worship artists who have influenced him greatly have been people like Paul Baloche, Israel Houghton, Lincoln Brewster, Christ Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, and All Sons and Daughters.
