Synopsis
With this unique collection, acclaimed author Glen Hirshberg breathes new life into an age-old literary tradition. In the title story a husband struggles with the grief and confusion of losing two children, and forms an odd bond with the infant spectrals that visit him in the night. "Dancing Men" depicts one of the creepiest rites of passage in recent memory when a boy visits his deranged grandfather in the New Mexico desert. "Struwwelpeter" introduces us to a brilliant, treacherous adolescent whose violent tendencies and reckless mischief reach a sinister pinnacle as Halloween descends on a rundown Pacific Northwest fishing village. Tormented by his guilty conscience, a young man plumbs the depths of atonement as he and his favorite cousin commune with the almighty Hawaiian surf in "Shipwreck Beach." In "Mr. Dark's Carnival," a college professor confronts his own dark places in the form of a mysterious haunted house steeped in the folklore of grisly badlands justice., With this unique collection, acclaimed author Glen Hirshberg breathes new life into an age-old literary tradition. - _***s (40)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseThis book was hard to find and it came in exceptional condition. It came quickly and the packaging was done with extreme care which I appreciated because this is an older book. The seller took great care in bubble wrap but also a specific cellophane sleeve to put the book in and then put it in a very padded envelope so not even a corner was affected. The book was even better than de This was a great value for a book I've been looking for and I will definitely use the seller again. Very happy!!😊
- s***i (327)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseThis seller is excellent in all ways! The score was wrapped in bubble wrap, then mailed in a heavy-duty, large paper envelope -- great protection! The score is in much better condition than indicated in the listing; it's like new except for a note on the inside front cover. Seller has been excellent in all ways, so I highly recommend them.Lady in the Dark by Moss Hart, Ira Gershwin (Chappell Music Company) (#186071078359)
