It replaces another Epson 5040 that had gone defective due to a worn Gear sprocket in the Cinema filter in my original 5040 unit. I will be doing repairs on my original one and then I will have 2 working units. It started right up like the original 5040 with same picture quality and set up in digital Cinema mode. I don't really need the MHL wireless transmitter or the side menu door which I never use anyway. Highly recommended seller.
