The 911T became the 911, the 911E the 911S and in place of the 911S was the Carrera. An increase in engine size from 2.4 to 2.7 liters helped improve performance with lower emissions on the cheapest fuel. Body changes were subtle with tidying up of bumpers for the American market and the Targa body. The Turbo introduced in 1975 was Germany's fastest road car.
