The wide variation of themes of card issues is explored, with many of the stories behind the cards revealed. AUTHOR: John Broom is an historian and author specialising in the cultural history of the twentieth century. He has been a keen collector of cricket and other sporting memorabilia since the 1970s, and feels a passion for, and connection to, artefacts from the past.
