I saw the khanjerra featured in a documentary 'Hidden Drummers of India' by Irish percussionist and film maker Ruairi Glasheen, so I bought this drum out of curiosity and to give it a go as a complete novice. It's simply made, but seems sturdy. It is as described and it arrived quicker than expected. The new skin needs broken in. It's slightly smaller than the dimensions given. A basic entry level drum, as you would expect for the price. I'm happy with the drum. A nice piece of Indian culture.
