The measurements are accurate, both in written form and shown with caliper in pictures. Vintage gas cans may vary slightly in pitch from one brand to another, but these caps fit on all 14 of our vintage cans with 1" neck. Sometimes you have to sand, oil and clean the threading on the neck of your can.
