Seller Notes: “Original red boards titled in gilt to front and spine, front decorated with an image of a lady ... “Original red boards titled in gilt to front and spine, front decorated with an image of a lady rowing a boat on a lake surrounded by mountains. In overall good condition, wear/rounding at spine ends and corners, darkened spine, the book has a significant lean. Internally in very good condition, armorial bookplate to front pastedown of Henry Samuel Howard Guinness (1888 - 1975) a merchant banker who married a Norwegian lady which perhaps explains his ownership, pencil notes to endpapers including a note from an owner, perhaps Mr Guinness, that the book was purchased in Copenhage in 1948. Solid hinges. Pages are clean and tidy. Dusty top edge of text block and very light foxing spots to side edge.”
