He was one of the top ten of the California painters. Bought my first Smith 🖼️ in 1972. Now I live within a few long blocks from the Alhambra art colony street where he painted—Champion Place. This seascape shows his flair for painting rocks. Twenty years ago I sold a brook & rock scene he did—and at a great profit as well. Attached rare pic of Smith & student Marjorie Reed. Tiny 🖼️.
