Appears to be a genuine new part. Be prepared to absolutely ruin your previous knob trying to remove it, it seems to be glued in, I don't see a way to twist it without stripping the leather. Would also recommend removing the thick black rubber washer from inside the original to improve the screw in end point for the new unit. Would recommend.
