      The hock boots stay securely in place when tightened properly, as there is elastic in the Velcro, which enhances comfort. My 32-year-old horse with arthritis wore them for several weeks at night when the temperature was minus three. The hock boots kept her joints warm during the night, allowing her to move easily in the morning.
