    Quad core 2.5ghz laptop decided to go slow and was running at 400mhz but didn't realise after tripping over my power cord it had damaged the jack (as it still showed plugged in) Blamed the recent windows update and reset it, then found the answer after more searching on web shows this slow mode for damaged/wrong charger. Anyways, after putting 2+2 together and spotting it was running fine on battery this ordered + arrived SUPER FAST and was swapped in 10 minutes. Working 100% now. Many Thanks.
