I confirmed that power was still running through the outlets and the TV's power cable though, so I figured replacing the controller board was worth a shot for $35 before spending several hundred on a new TV...and I am so glad I did. Swapped it out and voila! TV turns on and works like new again. Seller had the exact controller board replacement, was well packaged and arrived quickly.
