Nell'indimenticabile "summer of love" di San Francisco i quattro ragazzi californiani trascinati dell'oscuro fascino del cantante e poeta Jim Morrison, diventano "i Beatles americani". Nel 2007, a distanza di quarant'anni, le porte sono ancora aperte. La figura di Morrison, morto a Parigi nel 1971 all'età di 27 anni, sembra perpetuarsi nella leggenda a suon di biografie, film, documenti inediti. Nel frattempo la musica dei Doors è riscoperta dalle nuove generazioni e sembra non dover mai tramontare.
