Synopsis
At 1340 on 11 November 1941, Armistice Day, HMAS Sydney sailed from Fremantle on a routine escort mission. Sydney should have returned on the afternoon of 20 November, but the Australian cruiser failed to arrive. The disappearance of Sydney is one of the greatest maritime mysteries in Australian history. Many attempts have been made to unravel the sequence of events and answer the questions raised by this extraordinary episode. But no account has so far managed to deal convincingly with the problems and puzzles. Why did Sydney sink? Why was it lost without trace? And why were there no survivors? Bitter Victory is intense and compelling reading as it approaches, clue by clue, step by step, the most persuasive explanation proposed yet for the tragedy of HMAS Sydney. Book jacket.

Wow! The old Streetcar History book I ordered was honestly indecent better condition than described - very honest and, quite frankly, conservative grading Shipping details were sent fast and came early at that. The packaging was secure and I was certainly satisfied with it especially for the $30 price point. As I stated before the condition was fantastic and the packing materials were secure and arrived a day earlier than expected. Great experience, great seller!

Received the book in mint condition, exactly as described. The lined bubble wrapped packaging protected the corners which added to the, already, fantastic value! Shipping was lightning fast! Thank u trusted seller A+++
