I checked all the caterpillar fungi and came to the conclusion that, out of the approx. 45 Cordyceps sinensis caterpillars, 5 were dried caterpillars and not infected by Cordyceps. I was able to judge this based on the missing characteristics of the fruiting body and the fact that the interior of the caterpillar was not filled with mycelium, but simply with the dried inner organs.
