- d***e (52)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseI was very disappointed with the Teac 4010sl tape deck. The deck's performance regarding operation is quite poor. There was/is a very significant extraneous noise in the left channel . this noise is only in the left channel. The right channel has only the slight (expected) tape noise (hiss). I don't believe the seller properly checked this tape deck before listing it for sale. That the deck performed "immaculately" is far from a true statement.Reply from: vintagemediamusic- Feedback replied by seller vintagemediamusic.- Feedback replied by seller vintagemediamusic.I apologize for any extraneous noise emitted by the tape machine. I assure you I did test the tape machine in full beforehand, but I suppose there never is any guarantee with tape machines. Unfortunately, it sounds like a capacitor went bad. First I would unplug the device for 10 minutes or so, then I would plug it back in, but only to a voltage controlled outlet. make sure you set all knobs starting at 0, including the inner knobs on every potentiometer. Proper tape type is key also (maxell)
