This was one of her earliest experiences in the U.S. It soon became clear that she was one of the premiere mezzo sopranos in the world. She sang with the Michigan Opera Theatre but Luciano Pavarotti was extremely impressed with her singing for the opening of the Detroit Opera House. Her career grew from there. She didn't record very much but I'm glad that this recording exists.
