It runs for a decent time on its battery, but with the lid closed it loses only about 5% every 24 hours. Open it up again and the machine instantly carries on where it left off. I've never known a laptop to be so frugal. It means no battery anxiety; definitely a first for me. Just open it, use it, close it. I installed Kubuntu Linux so I can't say it's the same on Windows, but I don't imagine it's a lot different.
