I could only get about 150 volts and the thing went to 245 volts and had to shut off to get it to work again and it did it again and again. I let it cool down and it worked again but was not pushing it very hard. I also had to change the plug end for 220v. I don't know for sure but I bet it will do the same thing on 120v where the amps get greater. I do not recommend because it could be a fire hazard and only has an 18 awg cord.
