The reason for the missing star: this oil pan definitely went thru a rock tumbler to clean, which is fine, but the threads on the oil filter adapter were unprotected and damaged so the adapter had to be replaced. I also found several rocks left behind in the pan wedged in bolt holes and between the baffle and pan wall
