I have been using Elixir strings for well over 30 years. Tune down 1 full step on the 12, tune down 1/2 step on my old Martin 12 fret slot head. With Elixirs, I change the strings every 6 months, depending on number of gigs, I wipe the neck and fretboard down with top quality cleaner after every gig and every practice. I always buy several packages of strings because of value in bulk.
