The Fujitsu 146 GB hard drive uses a SCSI interface that makes it a good fit for businesses, or especially server rooms. SCSI enables this 3.5-inch hard drive to be used in RAID arrays, where one or more Fujitsu hard drives are linked together to provide redundancy. The 3.5-inch hard drive can also be used as a network drive in either NAS or SAN situations to provide remote storage. Thanks to the 10,000 RPM platter speed, the data write and read rate on the Fujitsu 146 GB hard drive is 320 Mbps. While it is a 3.5-inch drive, the form factor of this Fujitsu hard drive is low profile, which can help in tight spaces like server racks.. Keep in mind that the hard drive does operate at around 34 dB, which may make it a better option for a dedicated room. Users will appreciate the 8 MB cache that reduces the strain during heavy read/write activity. Lifetime is also a big factor for this Fujitsu 146 GB hard drive and has an expected lifespan of 1.2 million hours.
